 Ann Owen
Ann Owen, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of Economics, was recently a featured speaker at a symposium sponsored by Bank on Women in Chicago.

She discussed key findings from several of the articles she has written on board gender diversity and bank profitability, the role of social and professional networks in recruiting bank board members, and the influence the networks of bank board members have on bank performance.

Owen said that overall, these findings suggest that gender diversity improves bank performance when the conditions are favorable for full participation of female board members.

Bank on Women is a nonprofit organization that advocates for female leadership in the banking industry.
