Monk Rowe

Season 5 of the Jazz Backstory podcast, created and hosted by Monk Rowe, director of the Fillius Jazz Archive, launches on July 8th. The podcast is based on memorable conversations from the 500+ interviews with jazz musicians gathered since the inception of the project in 1995.

Jazz anecdotes are organized by themes and topics with background information from Rowe as well as music composed especially for each episode. Season 5 topics are: Potpourri, Pt. 1(Greatest Hits), Women in Jazz, For the Vocalists, The Art of Accompanying, It Only Takes One Note, You’re a Funny Guy(Humor in Jazz), Tunes, Titles & Intent, and Potpourri, Pt. 2.
