Luce Junior Professor of Asian Studies and Anthropology Chris Vasantkumar was an invited participant in a two-day workshop on "Himalayan Connections: Disciplines, Geographies, Trajectories" convened under the auspices of the Yale University Himalaya Initiative in New Haven on March 9-10.
Vasantkumar's presentation highlighted both the complexities of working on area in a post-area studies discipline and the central role played by trans-Himalayan mobilities in the development of national and trans-national forms of community both within and beyond the Himalayan region.
