During spring break, Professor of French Joseph Mwantuali visited Yaoundé, Cameroon, where he was an invited guest at a festival celebrating Cameroonian/Ivory Coast writer Werewere-Liking.
Mwantuali presented two talks during the trip. The first was at the University of Yaoundé in a panel discussion on “Werewere-Liking Mémoire d'un continent” (“Werewere-Liking: the Memory of a Continent”). His talk was titled “Werewere-Liking reste à découvrir” (“Getting to know Werewere-Liking better”).
At a book launch for Werewere-Liking: le Ki-Yi Mbock et la Renaissance Africaine, a volume edited by Mwantuali in 2021, he presented “Werewere-Liking and Pan-Africanism” and signed copies of the book.
His visit drew the attention of a local newspaper, which published an article about him and an interview.
