Professor of East Asian Languages and Literatures Zhuoyi Wang was recently appointed a director of the Shanghai Sonatas Foundation (SSF). As stated on its website, the SSF is a non-profit (501c3) organization that “promotes the awareness of the Holocaust, genocide, and racial and gender-related violence from a brand new perspective, and shares the lesser-known history that inspired the creation of Shanghai Sonatas, a new American musical about resilience, empathy, and cultural understanding.”
