Improvements for Accessibility and SEO

  • Page settings have been updated to include metadata description and keyword fields, so you can control the description that appears in public search results and identify the topics included on a page.
  • Alternate text is automatically added to your images to aid those with visual impairments. Note the accessibility alert as you name new images.

Accessibility Checklist

Page Description — Required

A meta description displays as a snippet summary of a page’s content in search engine results. The description should be compelling enough to convince users to click to view the page. 

A page should have a unique meta description of 110-160 characters.

Keywords — Required

Keywords should reflect the search terms or topic that your target audience is using to conduct a search to find information on a particular topic.

  1. In your SiteManager page list, hover over the page you want to view the page setting for in order to see icons appear on the right.page settings icon in SiteManager highlighted
  2. Add content to the metadata description field and keyword fields.
  3. Click Submit
  1. Review the PDF Accessibility Checklist to ensure your PDF can be viewed by people with sight disabilities.
  2. Remove any spaces or special characters in your file name.
  3. In SiteManager, navigate to the page list and hover over the PDF that needs to be replaced and in order to see icons appear on the right.
  4. Click the Replace Document icon replace icon
  5. Click the Choose File button and select the new PDF
  6. Click Submit
Turn on Notifications
  • In your SiteManager page list, hover over the page you want to copy in order to see icons appear on the right. page settings icon in SiteManager highlighted
  • Click the Settings icon
  • Click the Reminders tab
  • Choose when to receive the notification (3, 6, 9, or 12 months)
  • The next reminder field below will automatically populate
  • Your email address should automatically populate the email field. You have the option to add additional recipients to the reminder email.
  • Click Submit
Turn off Notifications

  2. Click the Settings icon
  3. Click the Reminders tab
  4. Click Turn Off Notifications
  5. Click Submit
  1. Hover over the upper right corner of the module to view the settings menu
  2. Click Hide Module
  3. Choose Show or Hide
  4. Enter a date
  5. Click Save

As an editor you’ll see the content and can edit as usual with an alert at the top indicating the module is not visible. screenshot - this module is hidden

To make the content visible to all, follow the same steps and uncheck hide module.

Add Shared Content Block
  1. Add a new Shared Content module
  2. Select the appropriate module from the list of available options
  3. Click the Save button
