The Beinecke Student Activities Village and the Sadove Student Center are multifaceted buildings designed to enhance the quality of social, cultural and educational programming for students, as well as develop a greater sense of community throughout the entire campus. Each room in the student center/village conveys its own unique personality, which offers students a variety of possibilities for interactive programming, conversation, active participation, study and quiet relaxation.

The Sadove Conference Room, Sun Porch, Living Room, Basement Multipurpose Room & Kitchen, and the Third Floor Atrium are the only spaces in the student center that may be reserved for programming or meeting space. The Kirkland (fireplace) Lounge, the Fillius Events Barn and the Tolles Pavilion (the Annex) are the only rooms in Beinecke Village that may be reserved for programming purposes. Individuals, organizations and departments requesting use any of these student spaces must submit a request through the 25Live scheduling system. Priority will be given to student organization requests. For reservations with more robust set up needs, please send a representative with knowledge of the event needs to a  Weekly Events Meeting (WE) on the Tuesday prior to the event to ensure that all arrangements are in order. The Weekly Events Meeting is every Tuesday at 12pm in the Sadove Student Center Conference Room (SDV 112).

Large-scale catered functions such as banquets, buffets and dinners are limited to the Tolles Pavilion (the Annex) and are not permitted in the Events Barn unless special permission is granted by the Student Activities Office. While the Tolles Pavilion (the Annex) may be used for social events with alcohol, the serving, consumption and/or presence of alcohol throughout the remainder of Beinecke Village, including the Events Barn, is strictly prohibited.

Information tables and displays may be arranged on Martin’s Way and in the areas to the right of the Diner-side entrance. Requests for display space are limited and accommodated through requests made through the 25Live scheduling system. A minimum of 48 hours is required to process requests and reserve tables. If a group wishes to place a collection box in the student center or activities village (i.e. a coat drive for The Rescue Mission), they must obtain permission from the Director or Assistant Director of Student Activities.

Banners promoting events and programs may be placed along the Martin’s Way bridge and from the loft windows over the Beinecke Village breezeway for no more than 24 hours and must be removed by the sponsor at the conclusion of the advertised event or program.
