All group classes are open to Hamilton students and employees. They are free of charge and you can attend as many classes as you like! No need to register, except for Spinning, Self-Defense and Fly Fishing. Group fitness classes are part of your personal wellness initiative and do not count towards P.E credit.
 

Performance Spin 

12:10-12:55 p.m., Mondays 
Blood Fitness Center Mezzanine

Ride from the shoreline to the hills on this journey, which is designed to provide you with optimum endurance and strength building. This ride will simulate varied terrain as you tackle rolling hills, sprints and other drills to give you a great interval workout. Come find the inspiration you’ve been looking for to help you achieve your personal goals! This class is for beginners, seasoned cyclists, and cross-trainers!  REGISTER FOR A BIKE


Full Body Blast

12:10-12:50 p.m., Mondays

Start your week with a lunch-time blast in this effective and up-tempo full body workout. The class features a warm up followed by 30 minutes of interval training involving bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, kettlebells, and various other equipment. The class is structured to cater to anyone, no matter what your age, body type or level of experience is. Modifications or additional challenges are offered to those who need them. 


Circuit Strength

4-5 p.m., Mondays

Circuit Strength is a full body workout designed to help you build and tone muscles while getting a good sweat in. The class features a warmup followed by 40 minutes of stations where you will perform various exercises involving dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, as well as bodyweight movements. The class is structured to cater to anyone, no matter what your age, body type or level of experience is. Modifications or additional challenges are offered to those who need them.  


Zumba

5-6 p.m., Mondays

Zumba is perfect for everybody and every body.  Zumba is a calorie-burning dance fitness party that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves for a total body workout and dance experience. Join the class and LET IT MOVE YOU!


Vinyasa Flow Yoga

12:05-12:55 p.m., Tuesdays

A gentle Vinyasa Flow yoga that emphasizes the sequential movement between postures, coordinated with and guided by deliberate breath. The Vinyasa practice becomes a moving meditation that creates strength, freedom, and fluidity in the body and mind. Suitable for all levels. Mats are available for those without their own.


Express HIIT

12:15-12:45 p.m., Tuesdays

Express HIIT alternates between quick burst efforts and short rest periods during this high intensity interval training (HIIT) class. HIIT methods are designed to build endurance, increase strength, and ramp up your metabolism for fat loss. HIIT It the perfect workout for those pressed for time and looking get the best bang for your buck experience in 30 minutes.


Power Yoga

4:15-5 p.m., Tuesdays

This Power Vinyasa Yoga class will guide you through energetic and quick-flowing sequences, with a dynamic mix of postures. It will allow you to release stress, while still building strength and gaining flexibility. Allow this class to leave you refreshed and energized for the remainder of your week. All levels are welcome, as modifications are always offered! Mats are available for those without their own.


Intro to Jump Rope

5-5:45 p.m., Tuesdays

Introduction to basic jump roping with Jason Hill. This class will cover the balance, agility, rhythm, and technique of jumping rope. This skill ignites your metabolism, improves your heart health and stamina, joint health, and increases focus. Jump rope is a great addition to anyone's fitness journey and is no longer the activity you didn't like in PE class! All levels are welcome and encouraged, and ropes are provided.


Body Bar with Step

Add some variety to your workout by using a weighted bar, hand weights, and step aerobics to alternate strength training and cardio routines. This class is open to all ability levels and is great for employees who are crunched for time. This high-energy class ends with toning, abs and stretch. Bring water, and a towel if desired. 



Kickboxing

4-5 p.m., Wednesdays

Punch and kick your way through the mid-week hump! This kickboxing class will teach you the basic punching, kicking, footwork, and body movement techniques of kickboxing while boosting your fitness.  Participants will engage in station drills, shadowboxing, calisthenics, striking of a bag or pads, and partner work to build strength, coordination, and confidence. This is a non-contact class; no sparring (striking of others) is permitted or included. Participants are advised to bring their own boxing gloves (10 ounce minimum). A limited quantity will be available for participants without their own.

Pound

5-6 p.m., Wednesdays (will begin in Feb 2025)

Rockout. Workout! It's a jam session - this full-body fusion that combines cardio and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms your workout.  

Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and  welcoming philosophy appeals to Rockstars of all ages and abilities.


Spinning

5-5:45 p.m., Wednesdays

Cruise through your mid-week hump with indoor cycling while building strength and endurance. We will review proper bike setup, correct form and posture, and learn the basic cycling moves. The class will be 40 minutes of cycling with additional post-workout stretching. The total class time will be about 45 minutes. Please bring a water bottle. This class is open to everyone, especially those new to spinning. Please bring a water bottle and a hand towel. Space is limited, please register to reserve your bike!  REGISTER FOR A BIKE


 

Boxing

4-5 p.m., Thursdays

Sweat & Shred

5-5:45 p.m., Thursdays

This 45-minute class will maximize the bang for your buck! It is composed of short bursts of body weight training blending both interval and strength exercises to hit all areas of the body. With circuit training, this class consists of plenty of cardio, weights, and core to get that extra metabolic burn which will motivate you to keep coming back. You’ll never get the same class twice! 


Self Defense

7-8 p.m., Thursdays

PRIOR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Come learn essential self defense principles and techniques in a positive training atmosphere! Attendees should wear comfortable clothing they can get around in. Beginners are welcome and this class is open to practitioners of all levels. The class is non-competitive in nature. Some techniques may involve punching, kicking, or striking pads, grappling, or using mock devices (e.g., training knife).

Aikido

1:00-2:00 p.m., Fridays

PRIOR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Aikido a non-competitive yet powerful Japanese martial art adapted from traditional combat techniques. Aikido can be effectively implemented by people of any age, body type, or gender for self-defense and to improve physical and mental conditioning.

This will be treated as a beginner class welcome to all, but will involve dynamic movements of the entire body. Participants should wear lower body attire that covers the legs below the knee that they can freely move in. T-shirts are acceptable for the upper body.


Swing Dance

3:00-4:00 p.m., Fridays

Intro to Swing Dance: If you love jazz and want to learn how to dance while trying a fresh take on exercise, this is the class for you! We will focus on the basic steps for Lindy hop, Charleston, Balboa, East coast swing and Solo jazz through the semester. This class will primarily focus on partner dancing, but you do not need to bring a partner to participate (we will be rotating partners through the class). All levels encouraged and welcomed!


Fly Fishing 101

Spring 2025 session TBA
 

This Fly Fishing 101 course is to introduce people who have NEVER fly fished before to new and very exciting horizons. Students will learn everything from casting, tying flies, basic entomology, fly line management, reading water, fishing etiquette, and more. You will also have a chance to explore some beautiful streams in our local area!

Upon completion, students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to fish most streams and small lakes with confidence. A fishing license is required upon completion of this class. It can be purchased from the Town Clerk in the village of Clinton. The cost of the license is $25, but you must show your college ID for this rate. The license is good for one year from the date of purchase. 

All gear is supplied by the college. Weather permitting, we will try to make sure that everyone fishes during the semester that the course is taken.
