Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, access to the Health Center has changed. Please reach out by calling 315-859-4111 and if necessary, leaving us a detailed message. We will work with you to resolve your issue. If you are on campus and having a medical emergency, call Campus Safety at 315-859-4000.

About the Health Center

We work closely with our colleagues in the Counseling Center on the second floor in an effort to treat the whole student. The health center is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care to students.

Services

During clinic hours, medical and nursing care is provided. Students are seen by appointment only. Any emergencies should call 315-859-4000 to have HCEMS dispatched. There is no fee for evaluation by the staff. However, students will incur charges for medication and in-house labs. Students are responsible for charges incurred by referrals to specialists, hospital emergency rooms and outside labs.

Privacy & Records

Student’s privacy is of the utmost concern to us when a student receives services at the health center. Records created and maintained by this department are considered student treatment records and the student’s privacy of such information is governed by federal and state laws. Unless specifically authorized by law or required by court order, private medical or counseling information and student treatment records will not be shared or released without the consent of the student.

Health Insurance

Hamilton College requires that all enrolled students carry valid health insurance coverage. All students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and do not complete the online waiver are automatically enrolled in the Hamilton College Student Health Insurance Plan. If you have comparable existing health insurance coverage and DO NOT wish to purchase the Hamilton College coverage, you must submit an online waiver and present evidence of your own health insurance coverage.

Students who have symptoms should call the Health Center at 315-859-4111 to schedule a test.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

All enrolled students are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and exemptions will only be granted for approved medical and religious reasons. Once fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks after receiving either both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine), students should file their vaccination records on the Health Center student patient portal.
