Hamilton will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Kirkland charter during Reunions ’15. The New York State Board of Regents approved Kirkland’s charter in March 1965, 153 years after their approval of the original Hamilton College charter. The first class entered in 1968.

Frank Anechiarico ’71, the Maynard-Knox Professor of Government and Law, recently joined the advisory board of The Museum of Political Corruption in Albany, N.Y. Also on the board is former gubernatorial candidate Zephyr Teachout.

Fourteen Hamilton students in the New York City Program were among those fortunate to get tickets to the hottest show in New York on March 7. They went to see Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton,” a hip-hop musical about the rise and fall of Alexander Hamilton, the architect of our nation’s financial system, first Wall St. power broker, and of course, the College’s namesake. The show will complete its run at Public Theater on May 3 and then move to Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre in July.

American businessman Philip Murphy, the former United States Ambassador to Germany, will deliver the Hamilton College Commencement address on Sunday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.

Recently, Operation Fuel welcomed Kimberly O’Brien Green ’89 to their team. As Director of Development, she will oversee the organization’s fund-raising, development and marketing efforts.

Hamilton Program in New York City students had the opportunity to visit the vibrant studio of celebrated New York painter and sculptor Hunt Slonem.  The event featured a reception with alumni organized by Hamilton trustee Adrienne Ruger Conzelman ’92.

The Department of Dance and Movement Studies will present its annual Spring Dance Concert on Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m., in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and Performing Arts.

Multimedia artist Curt Confer ’02 will present a lecture titled “Time Warp: Getting Lost in NYC’s Experimental Art Scene” on Friday, March 6, at 4:15 p.m., in the Kennedy Center’s Barrett Lab Theatre. Confer’s lecture is sponsored by the Theatre Department and is free and open to the public.

Hamilton College has announced the members of the Search Committee that will recommend the college’s next president to the Board of Trustees and created a website to report on the committee’s progress. The college is seeking a president to succeed Joan Hinde Stewart, who announced her decision to retire on June 30, 2016.

The fifth annual Entrepreneurship Workshop and Pitch Competition took place over the past weekend, drawing interest from alumni and students alike. The event was open to current students and Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD).  Peter Kazickas ’15 won first place with his pitch for The Move, a mobile application that is designed to promote local social activities.
