  • Anthony Scibelli ‘78 was recently appointed as the Associate Vice President for Product Management at Napier Healthcare, an International Health Information Technology firm headquartered  in Singapore. Scibelli is now responsible for Napier’s international product strategy and the launch of the Next Generation products. Anthony was part of the team that was responsible for the launch of DaVincian Technologies, a new healthcare start-up focused on administration simplification.

  • Hamilton a capella group The Buffers performed in the 33rd annual John Lennon Tribute concert before a sold-out crowd at Symphony Space on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Dec. 6. The Lennon Tribute, co-sponsored by Theatre Within and Music Without Borders, began in 1981 as a small gathering of artists who wished to honor the memory of the musical icon, and has since grown into a major charity event for the Spirit Foundation, which Lennon and Yoko Ono founded in 1978.

  • If you were wondering about that series of pink flags that were later supplanted by white chalk designs on the area between Admissions and the Taylor Science Center, Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology Khori Newlander ’04 can explain. It was all part of a project for his course “Frauds and Fantastic Claims in Archaeology.”

  • The Wall Street Journal featured alumna Stacey Boyd ’91 on Dec. 3 in an article titled “Fundraising + Daily Deals = Business Inspiration” that focused on her new platform for school funding.

  • Alumnus Eric Kuhn ’09, head of social media at United Talent Agency, appeared on Bloomberg TV on a segment titled “Is Twitter Trying to Bring Back Must See TV?” Kuhn’s biography, including his Hamilton education, appeared prominently on screen.

  • Lawrence D. Dodds '89 was a speaker at the 2013 Philadelphia Bar Institute’s Exceptional Children Conference. Dr. Dodds co-led the session, “The New DSM-5: Changes You Need to Know for your School Law Practice.” The panel addressed how the June 2013 revisions to the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic Manual may impact schools’ obligations to provide education-based services for students with disabilities.

  • Students on Hamilton’s Program in NYC recently paid a visit to Richard Bernstein Advisors, an investment advising firm founded by alumnus Richard Bernstein ’80.  After working at Merrill Lynch as the chief investment strategist, Bernstein left Merrill in 2008 and started his own firm in 2009, in the midst of the Great Recession.

  • Catie Gibbons ‘09 recently put together a team with the American Cancer Society to raise money and awareness while participating in the Chicago Marathon. Together with her sister, Megan Gibbons ’12, and several other Hamilton alumni and parents, they raised over $25,000. Catie says that this story is “a testament to the relationships that my sister and I have created on Hamilton’s campus.” Catie and Megan decided to get a Hamilton group together to support the American Cancer Society after their mother, Kelly Kearney Gibbons, passed away in February after a year and a half battle with cancer.

  • Students in the Hamilton College Program in Washington, D.C. attended an informative media panel hosted by George Baker ’74 and Frank Vlossak ’89 of the Williams and Jensen law firm on Oct. 30. The panel included Hamilton D.C. area alumni who work in the fast-paced field of D.C. media and journalism.

  • On Oct. 27, Alexander Hare ’14 and Isabelle “Izzy” Weisman ’15 sailed to Antarctica to continue ongoing research initiated by Eugene Domack, the J.W. Johnson Family Professor of Geosciences and director of Larsen Ice Shelf System – Antarctica (LARISSA), a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded and Hamilton College supported initiative. Domack’s former student, Amelia Shevenell ’96, is serving as chief scientist on this cruise.
