Three Hamilton students —Gabrielle (Gaby) Guerra ’27, Tzu Han (Annie) Huang ’27, and Darian Torres ’27 — will study abroad during the next year, thanks to assistance from Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships.

As the 2024-25 academic year wraps up, we’re proud to celebrate students who have received national fellowships and scholarships, presented at conferences, and earned other recognition.

When President Barack Obama visited Hamilton College on April 3 as part of the Sacerdote Great Names Series, the crowd came for the moment — but what stuck were the words.

A historic winter season for Hamilton athletics featured record-setting achievements, national championship berths, and top individual honors.

More than 120 attendees took part in Common Ground’s first-ever student-run debate, a milestone event that was months in the making, focused on the topic, “Resolved: Environmental Protections Are More Important Than Economic Growth.”

Although students have only been back on campus for a month-and-a-half, they've been busy attending conferences, presenting research and enjoying experiential learning opportunities.

As snow falls on Hamilton’s campus, many students take the opportunity to try a new winter activity: cross-country skiing. Students can rent skis from the Glen House and take them out on the cross-country ski course, located behind the Taylor Science Center. With heavy snow, this course requires maintenance to ensure a safe place for beginner skiers, and that maintenance requires time and fuel.

Shortly after welcoming in the new year, Hamilton also welcomed 45 new students to the Hill — the College’s class of January admits. Commonly referred to as “Jans,” these students begin their Hamilton residential careers during the spring semester after spending the fall off campus.

The Days-Massolo Multicultural Center (DMC) hosted the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dinner to honor the legacy of the civil right leader on Jan. 31. Some 120 students, faculty, and staff members gathered in warm celebration and remembrance of King’s impact on the civil rights movement.

Students and faculty ended the fall semester strong as they published academic papers, presented research, and won prestigious awards.
