The Hamilton College Summer Program in Philosophy (HCSPiP), founded in 2018, has been a success from the beginning. First featured in an article in the American Philosophical Association Studies in Teaching in Philosophy, this year the Chronicle of Higher Education spotlighted the program in July.

Eric Kuhn ’09 has been at the cutting edge of social media strategy and content production since his time as a student on College Hill. Now he is preparing for yet another on-stage responsibility: hosting Hamilton musical composer, creator, and star Lin-Manuel Miranda for the Sacerdote Great Names series.

The Wellin Museum of Art presents the exhibition, Jamea Richmond-Edwards: Another World and Yet the Same, from Sept. 13 through June 14, 2026, showcasing the artist’s interdisciplinary work in collage and painting.

The glens of Hamilton College are poised to receive national attention through Assistant Professor of Biology Peter Guiden’s new project funded by a $500,000 National Science Foundation grant. Alongside Associate Professor of Biology Andrea Townsend and Northern Illinois University’s Holly Jones, Guiden seeks to untangle the complex relationships between deer and rodents that could be shaping our forests.

National and regional news organizations regularly interview Hamilton faculty, staff, alumni, and students for their expertise and perspectives on current events, and to feature programs and activities on campus. August’s news topics included coverage of campus speech, Upstate New York brain drain, and reinstallation of Confederate statues, among others.

Hamilton’s 43 new faculty members for the 2025-26 academic year include eight tenure-track faculty, 30 visiting professors and lecturers, and five teaching fellows.

Jampel Payldon ’27 hails from the Kingdom of Bhutan, a small nation nestled in the Himalayas. This summer, Payldon had the opportunity to represent her country on the world stage as an intern at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations.

With 26 locations needing a different number of food pallets each day — and 10 trucks each with their own capacity limits — designing an efficient route had been an arduous task for the Food Bank of Central New York (FBCNY). That’s where Hughes “Hugh” Williams ’26 came in. This summer he created an algorithm that can determine each day’s optimal route within seconds.

When someone learns that I’m a film history professor, the question, “What’s your favorite film?” is rarely long in coming.

Cars, SUVs, minivans, and airport shuttles filled with new students and families were greeted by raucous singing and cheering Orientation leaders and President Steven Tepper in his full Alexander Hamilton costume. The Class of 2029 and transfer students arrived on College Hill on Aug. 19 to begin Orientation, embark on adventure trips, and matriculate into Hamilton.
