Face Facts

People say eyes are a window to the soul — but what about the jawline? That’s a question Associate Professor of Psychology Keelah Williams tackled, along with five Hamilton student researchers, this summer.

The Evolving Campus

For more than two centuries, the planners and caretakers of Hamilton’s campus have ensured that the facilities and grounds provide the ideal setting for living and learning at the highest level. The College has embarked on a comprehensive effort to develop a new master plan that will inform the next era of campus development. Here's a look back at five historical eras that led to today’s Hamilton.

  • Hamilton College’s Levitt Center is ground zero for research opportunities on campus. Aimed at encouraging students to combine their academic ambition with practical, hands-on, research, the Levitt Research Fellows Program is a great opportunity for students to dive deeper into their interests. Students are awarded a research grant and collaborate closely with a faculty advisor for up to 10 weeks, then prepare a presentation and submit a paper in the fall.

  • As we welcome new and returning members of our community back to College Hill, we want to offer a glimpse into what campus has been up to these past few months while many have been away. Here’s a sampling of new spaces, new faces, renamed buildings, major moves, and more.

  • As part of the Levitt Center’s Community Impact Summer Fellowship Program, a cohort of Hamilton students have been collaborating with local organizations focused on social and public policy across Oneida County. We chatted with a few of these students who spent the summer combining their academic pursuits with practical and hands-on skills.

  • Reading Prester John: Cultural Fantasy and its Manuscript Contexts, a new book by Professor of History John Eldevik, was recently published by Arc-Humanities Press. It examines the legend of Prester John, a powerful Christian monarch believed to have ruled a vast empire in Asia during the Middle Ages.

  • The Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College will host an exhibition called "Menagerie: Animals in Art" from September 7 to June 8, 2025. This exhibit will showcase hundreds of artworks featuring animals from ancient times to today.
