2022-23 HSMB Report
The Title IX Coordinator received 44 reports* of potential violations under the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy.
After being advised of their options, including contacting law enforcement, none of the reporting individuals elected to pursue a complaint through Hamilton's formal resolution process. An individual who reported alleged prohibited conduct in the previous academic year, initially elected to move forward with a formal resolution process in the 2022-23 academic year. Ultimately, these reports were resolved using an informal resolution process.
Below is the list of actions taken for the reports received in the 2022-23 academic year:
- In one (1) report, it was determined that the reported behaviors were covered in a different College policy or procedure. The Director of Community Standards ensured that the reporting individual was in contact with the relevant College official.
- In three (3) of the reports, the accused was a non-community member and the reporting individual was no longer in contact with that individual. The Title IX Coordinator coordinated support services for those individuals.
- In thirty-six (36) of the reports of potential policy violations, the accused was not contacted, at the request of the reporting individual and/or due to lack of information.
- In four (4) of the reports of potential policy violations, the Title IX Coordinator met with the accused to issue a no contact order and/or notify the accused of the accusations, at the request of the reporting individual.
- For twelve (12) of these potential violations, the reporting individual requested support services and/or interim measures organized by the Title IX Coordinator and/or information about the support options available on and off campus, but did not seek further action at that time.
In addition, the Title IX Coordinator received 6 reports under the Harassment and
Discrimination Policy.
The outcomes of the complaints are as follows:
- In two (2) matters, the Title IX Coordinator reached out to the reporting party and they declined to meet.
- In four (4) matters, the Title IX Coordinator met with the reporting party to advise them of their options. The reporting parties chose not to pursue any action
*Please note that each report of a potential violation of the policy is counted separately. For example, a report with two complainants and one respondent is counted as two reports. Likewise, a report with multiple respondents is counted multiple times.
**Please note that each action taken for each potential violation of the policy is counted as an outcome of a complaint. For example, an allegation that a single respondent carried out two different violations of the policy would result in two outcomes of a complaint.
