Moon Cho ’91 on founding the energy healing platform, Om Heals

I'm the creator of Yin and Yang Living, a spiritual and holistic living influencer on YouTube with over 286,000 organic subscribers. I was inspired to promote higher consciousness living due to the death of my late sister Sun (yes, that's her Korean given name) – who, I say, died due to years of stress and unhappiness, with cancer being her manifested symptom. I felt my late sister Sun's spirit guided me to create Yin and Yang Living, and without any formal education or training, I started the blog. I thought about a name for my blog and "Yin and Yang Living" popped into my head. Two years after I created Yin and Yang Living, I discovered through my mother, who studied Chinese characters even though we're Korean, that in Chinese the "yin" is the moon and the "yang" is the sun. I always say my late sister Sun and I are the yin and yang, which is why the Yin and Yang Living logo is the crescent moon and round sun. I create, produce, and edit all of my videos with no crew, but hope to get one soon! 

When the pandemic hit, I had an idea to create a telehealth platform to match energy practitioners with users and birthed the Om Heals idea. I brought in a business partner, Jen Hill, to help me manifest this start up into a platform that brings energy medicine to the world. We launched our website to test out the matchmaking algorithm we developed to match energy practitioners with users in order to achieve the best energy session experiences for both parties. We now have energy practitioners from all over the world and more onboard each week. Because energy medicine is not accepted by insurance and users have to pay out of pocket, our vision is to create a scholarship fund in the future so anyone who cannot afford energy medicine will still have access to it. We believe energy medicine is the future of healing and want to educate the world on its healing powers and make it mainstream where people use energy medicine like taking aspirin. 

Both Yin and Yang Living and Om Heals were created out of a deep yearning to follow my soul's path and fulfill a higher purpose in life. I believe each of us are granted unique gifts by the Divine to serve the collective good for the expansion and growth of our eternal soul.  Many blessings and namaste.
