Public Speaking Competition
Hamilton’s Public Speaking Competition takes place each year with a preliminary competition in February and final competition in March. In this annual event students compete for three different prizes: The McKinney Prize, The Clark Prize, and The Warren E. Wright Prize.
Three Minute Thesis Competition
The Oral Communication Center hosts an annual Three Minute Thesis competition. Open to all members of the senior class, the competition offers cash prizes for the students who can most effectively summarize their senior projects in three minutes or less.
Persuasive Speaking Workshop
This workshop is for students seeking to learn and practice fundamental principles of persuasion-useful for class assignments as well as the Public Speaking Competition held in March. During the workshop, Hamilton alumni share stories about how the ability to communicate has impacted their lives.
Hamilton Speaks
It was an annual event hosted by the Oral Communication Center where members of the Hamilton Community and visiting professionals were given six minutes to present information and advice about oral communication.
