Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits®

Effective August 1, 2024, the VA will pay for private and foreign schools, the benefit percentage of the in-state actual net cost up to a limit of $28,937.09 for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Yellow Ribbon Program may still be utilized by domestic institutions to pay for tuition and fee charges above the yearly cap.

Yellow Ribbon

A provision of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the Yellow Ribbon Program provides partial funding for veterans and their spouses or dependents to cover the cost of tuition at participating private colleges. Hamilton College provides a matching school contribution of up to $20,000 to six students annually. These funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis determined by the date of deposit and notification to the Office of Financial Aid.

Hamilton College will treat VA benefits like an outside scholarships. In accordance with federal policy, VA benefits will be applied before other federal and state grant aid will be awarded.
