The grant will support efforts to fulfill one of the College’s original missions: to provide an immersive and inclusive education in American Indian and Indigenous Studies and to significantly amplify the efforts of Hamilton to build a sustainable partnership and productive collaborations with the Oneida Indian Nation.

Hamilton Town-Gown Fund Awards Nearly $123,000
The Hamilton College Town-Gown Fund recently awarded nearly $123,000 to 13 local non-profits and public safety organizations serving the Town of Kirkland and the Village of Clinton.

Philip O’Neill ’73 gets around. His senior year winter study at Hamilton took the Soviet studies major to Uzbekistan, a Muslim republic then part of the U.S.S.R. There, looking at the distant mountains, he asked a local what was on the other side.

Shortly after welcoming in the new year, Hamilton also welcomed 45 new students to the Hill — the College’s class of January admits. Commonly referred to as “Jans,” these students begin their Hamilton residential careers during the spring semester after spending the fall off campus.

The Days-Massolo Multicultural Center (DMC) hosted the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dinner to honor the legacy of the civil right leader on Jan. 31. Some 120 students, faculty, and staff members gathered in warm celebration and remembrance of King’s impact on the civil rights movement.
