Given the many ways that the COVID-19 pandemic has no doubt impacted your high school experience and college search, we want to relay the following important commitments that Hamilton has made to our applicants. We hope this information provides clarity and relief, and reassures you of our commitment to helping you navigate your college search during this unprecedented time.

Transcripts and Academic Programs

We recognize your high school experience has been altered in significant ways. Whether your school calendar was adjusted or truncated, or if your academic program converted to remote learning or a new grading scale, we understand these matters are beyond your control. As always, your high school achievement will remain the most important piece of your application to Hamilton, and we remain committed to evaluating each individual application within the context of your school offerings and home environment.

Standardized Testing

At this time, applicants can choose to submit standardized testing scores, but they will not be required to apply for admission. (Please note that some applicants for whom English is not their native language will still be required to submit the results of an English-language proficiency exam.)

Campus Visits

Our campus is open for visits, with information sessions and student-led tours available Monday through Friday and select Saturdays. Registration is required, and more details can be found on our What to Expect From Your Campus Visit webpage. Because we recognize not everyone will be able to visit campus, we have a number of other ways for you to engage with us, including our virtual tour, a video information session, Tours From Your Sofa, Major Meetups, and special Virtually Hamilton sessions.

Access and Affordability

Hamilton has an unwavering commitment to access and affordability, and this seems to be a very good time to remind you of that. In addition to our generous policy for waiving application fees and allowing applicants to self-report test scores (for those who choose to submit them), we are need-blind in admission for U.S. citizens and meet 100% of our students’ demonstrated financial need for all four years. We encourage you to use one of Hamilton’s cost estimators to determine your eligibility for financial aid at Hamilton.

We’re Here to Help

We hope this information provides you some clarity and relief during an otherwise stressful time, and reassures you of our commitment to helping you navigate your college search adventure in these unusual times.

Admission Staff

Hamilton’s admission officers look forward to reviewing your applications and, in the meantime, answering any questions you may have. Please don’t hesitate to email admission@hamilton.edu or feel free to be in touch with the Admission Officer responsible for your region.
