Happy summer! Or is it? The DMC’s Gender and Sexuality Union celebrated the warm(ish) weather with a s’mores bonfire with the Office of Community Living at the Glen House on Thursday. The cozy evening hosted sweet treats, good conversation, and a chance to build community. Here’s to s’more good times!

Monday marked the second event of APIDA, or Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American month. For Hamilton’s campus, it was a day of community building and solidarity, with a collaborative event by the DMC’s Asian Student Union and Center for Intersectional Feminism. The DMC was full of laughter, joy, and lots of boba!

Students across campus joined together for a celebration of student life and goodbye to departing seniors on Wednesday night. Stoles were handed out, winners of Kahoot! celebrated, and karaoke was sung in one last hurrah for the ‘24-’25 school year. Seniors, we will miss you!

As Ramadan approached this spring, the students of the Muslim Student Association prepared both themselves and their community for the weeks ahead. Ramadan marks the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is distinguished by practices of increased worship, fasting, and reflection, believed to be the time of year when the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. 

“Women faculty often have an unofficial mentorship position, it’s my favorite part of the job,” remarked Anthropology Professor Hannah Lau as she sat on a panel across from around 50 Hamilton students. Professor Lau was one of five incredible professors invited to speak at this year’s Women of Color Banquet on Tuesday, February 25th. The combined efforts of all six Days-Massolo Multicultural Center student organizations brought the event to life, including Black and Latine Student Union, Center for Intersectional Feminism, Asian Student Union, Gender and Sexuality Union, and La Vanguardia.

La Vanguardia hosted a lively movie night on April 6th in the DMC Kirkland Room, featuring an iconic Spanish-language sequel that brought plenty of laughs and good vibes. With Chipotle in hand and subtitles on screen, students gathered for a cozy evening of culture, community, and cinematic fun.

On the eve of April 5th, the Little Pub at Hamilton College was bursting at the seams with love, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos at Love Fest—a fabulously sex-positive bash featuring trivia that made you blush, raffles and prizes that made you cheer, and cocktails that made you dance (maybe a little too confidently). The event brought to the stage killer performances by Tumbling After, Special K, Duelly Noted, student bands, and DJ Emie. Hosted by CIF and SMART, the event wasn’t just a party—it was a powerful fundraiser for sexual assault resources donated to the YWCA, proving that love, consent, and good tunes really do make the world go round.

On April 6th, Hamilton’s Asian Student Union brought the color and joy to Babbitt Pavilion with a vibrant celebration of Holi and Sinhala Tamil New Year. From guided meditation and heartfelt student speakers to tug of war, Kanaa mutti, and an endless spread of Sri Lankan sweetmeats and Taj Mahal food, the event was a joyful fusion of tradition, community, and candy-filled chaos. Lamps were lit, pots were smashed, and spirits were high as students came together to ring in the new year with love, laughter, and a whole lot of deliciousness.

Over Sunday, February 23rd, Hamilton College’s Asian Student Union (ASU)  hosted their 3rd annual New Year’s event, curating a wide range of cultural games, food, language immersion, and community building. ASU President Hana Dolan noted that the event was one of the largest celebrations of Asian student life on campus, drawing upwards of 200 students; “We are on a PWI campus where students are separated from their families and communities . . . it's so important, to build community on this campus.”

Every Tuesday at 6 PM, the Days-Massolo Multicultural Center transforms into a warm and welcoming space for Trans Tea Time, a weekly event dedicated to fostering community and support for transgender and nonbinary individuals. This gathering provides a safe and affirming environment where attendees can relax, share experiences, and connect with one another over a comforting selection of tea, cookies, and biscuits.
