Step 1: Submit a Social Security Letter Request. You will need to upload your employment offer
letter from your on-campus employer.

Step 2: Submit application to Social Security Administration (SSA) online.
Save the Control Number after you submit your application.

Step 3: Make a transportation appointment (Appointments are usually 30 minutes of less).

Step 4: Gather your documents – DSO Letter (emailed), Passport, I-20, and your most recent I-94

Step 5: Email the receipt you were given at the Social Security Office to oodegbam@hamilton.edu

You should get your social security card in the mail between 7-10 business days. Possession of a social security number does NOT constitute eligibility to work.
