The Hamilton College Town-Gown Fund has awarded 161 grants totaling $1.2 million since 2001. In 2021, the committee that oversees the fund elected to make one grant each year in memory of Clinton native and Town-Gown Fund founding committee member Andy Burns.

  • Clinton Fire Department: $10,000 toward the purchase of battery-operated extrication equipment
  • Kirkland Art Center: $12,500 to update computer hardware and IT infrastructure
  • Village of Clinton: $15,000 to modernize the Village sign board (in memory of Andy Burns)

  • The Country Pantry: For general operations: $5,000 (an additional $5,000 grant was made to the Country Pantry in February 2021 in memory of Clinton native Andy Burns)
  • The Committee also provided funding for a grant writer to work with the Village of Clinton, Kirkland Trails, and the Clinton Youth Foundation to prepare proposals for larger grants.

  • CCS Foundation: $7,000 to purchase new equipment for the student fitness center at CCS

  • COCVAC: $8,000 to purchase AV equipment for Phase 2 of the Distance Learning Project

  • Kirkland Trails: $15,000 to develop biking and hiking trails using existing canal and railroad paths
