Language Center
The Language Center's vision is to promote the value of language learning, cultural understanding and life-long learning skills.
Centrally located within the language departments on the first floor of the Christian A. Johnson Building, the mission of the Language Center is to support the teaching and learning of languages by providing pedagogical and instructional technology support informed by current language acquisition theory and best practices.
The Center supports curricular goals and learner outcomes in language proficiency and cultural awareness through faculty development workshops and individual consultations, course materials development support, student collaborative and creative project-based assignments, language specific resources, and peer tutoring.
The Language Center cultivates a sense of community in learning, providing a context for language practice and engagement beyond the classroom. It serves as a hub where learners of all languages and levels intersect, interact, and support one another in a shared sense of the importance of the study of languages and cultures, and supports Hamilton’s commitment to developing students personally and professionally for world citizenship.
