Research Librarian for Teaching and Learning Initiatives
Burke Library, First Floor
Alexandra (Alex) Wohnsen joined Burke Library’s Research and Instructional Design team in Summer 2014 as the Research & First Year Experience Librarian. She has had a blast working with first year students and the faculty who teach them and is excited to expand her role as the Research Librarian for Teaching & Learning Initiatives.
Originally from Washington DC, Alex lived most recently in Seattle where she earned her MLIS at the University of Washington while working as a reference and instruction assistant at UW’s undergraduate library. She received B.A. degrees in Hispanic Studies and International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
Outside of work Alex enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
Current Interests and Activities
Alex works to support the courses in the First Year Course program and integrates library services across campus by partnering with Academic Resource Centers and other campus stakeholders to involve the library in all aspects of the First Year Experience.
