On September 11, three Wellesley faculty and librarians who have been intimately involved in both the conversations that preceded the policy’s adoption and in its subsequent implementation joined LITS staff via skype to discuss the policy

Interested in reading the Chronicle of Higher Education but frustrated you can’t access all of the articles? You’re in luck!

Burke Library subscribes to campus wide access to the Chronicle. This means that everyone at Hamilton can access all Chronicle.com content (both free and premium) from virtually anywhere. The only requirement is that you create a free Chronicle account using your Hamilton email address. All premium content can be accessed by signing in to your account.

Texting while driving, smoking, crossing College Hill Road without looking both ways are all behaviors that increase the risk of harm to ourselves and others.  

AVS’ Video Duplication service is changing.  We are moving to an all digital workflow from start to finish and you will receive a digital version of your event. We will no longer be providing DVDs unless requested.   DVDs can be provided for $5 for the first DVD and $3 for any additional copy.

July 26 to August 2, Hamilton College was host to ILiADS, the Institute for Liberal Arts Digital Scholarship. 

Glynis Asu, Research and Instructional Support Librarian, co-presented a poster and live demonstration of the Interactive Online Tutorials (or “Digital Learning Objects”) at the New York Six Showcase for the Presidents’ Meeting, June 23, at Hobart & William Smith College.

In March 2014, Hamilton and Colgate joined edX, and one year later professors Doran Larson and Brent Plate offered Hamilton’s first two massively open online courses (MOOCs). During that year we began regular conversations with our counterparts at Davidson and Wellesley, two other national liberal arts colleges that were experimenting with the same online technologies.

The conversations led to face-to-face meetings of faculty, staff and students at Davidson in February and Wellesley in May. From these discussions emerged the idea of forming a consortium to more formally share our experiences and collaborate on efforts going forward.

Abby Morton recently celebrated 50 years of work in the LITS Acquisitions department.   

The college archives recently acquired a collection of photographs of the family of Elihu Root, Class of 1864 (Nobel Peace Prize winner, Secretary of State to Theodore Roosevelt, etc.), from the estate of his granddaughter, Julia Grant Dietz, Trustee of Kirkland College.
